sorry for the lack of updates, things have been crazy lately and i didn't want to post anything until i knew what was going on. jason will be leaving the states, and the xenos arrow, this month to work in london. if you've ever seen national lampoon's european vacation, you know what he has to look foreward to. while we are incredibly bummed at our loss, it's a great opportunity, and we wish him nothing but success and great times.
again, we are faced with the task of rebuilding our lineup.
i'm not really sure what we're going to do.
luckily, jason is leaving his drums w/ us for the duration of his trip, and the last few practices i've been playing them. so we could mutate into some kind of 3-piece. or perhaps we'll look for another drummer...but i don't see that happening for a few months yet (at least until after my wedding). so everything is kind of up in the air again...

rock is coming along quite nicely, as soon as we're privy to tex's new work/reserve schedule, i think we'll try to book some shows (yes!). both robb and i have birthdays to celebrate next week (james: may 1, robb: may 3), so that's fun. maybe i'll get that pony i've been wishing for!!! birthday emails are always a nice suprise.
the whole napster controversy has me thinking quite a bit, and perhaps that will work itself into the soapbox section in a few days. until then,

wassup, yo? how you livin? good, we hope. the men of the xenos arrow continue to blossom under the spring skies. tex missed practice last night, so we jammed out on jawbox, then spacey/trippy ideas.
since they're not the kind of guys to shamelessly self-promote (...yeah, and they never update their website), i'll do it for them. zoothead recieved a glowing review from lost at sea for their latest offering, songs for grey areas. clic here to read it.

hi boys and girls. enjoying the nice weather? we are. it seems impossible not to be in good spirits when everything is in bloom. as for the men of the xenos arrow, we are in bloom as well. rehearsals are coming along very well...so many good ideas pop up every time we get together, we need to start recording practices. hopefully, shows will be scheduled for late spring/summer. i've posted a few new pics, so you can check those out while you're here. and if you haven't yet, scroll down to the bottom and sign up for our email list.

"oh, what could this mean?" the throngs will cry. "are we safe?" children will ask their parents. "what could be the reason for the xenos arrow to update their website; on this day we pause to hoist pints, swill ale, and revel in our worldwide toast to St. Patrick?"
the answer is: we got a drummer!
the stars aligned, fate smiled upon us, and fortune brought us a crucial fourth member to our merry band.
the men of the xenos arrow proudly welcome jason to all the joy/laughter/fury/confusion that is the xenos arrow. the collective morale is quite high, and in the mere 3 times we've been able to play together, new songs have already begun to take form.
again, thanks to everyone for not forgetting us: at the ostinato show some people were asking when we'd be playing again. i can't explain how much it means to us that a few people still remember the music, and even after such a long hiatus, still want to hear more. speaking of ostinato, they've got a website coming out soon, check the links page.
so, i'll have some new pics in a week or two from the "rock house," and you'll get yer first gander at the new drummer, as well as the rest of the band sporting all the hottest spring fashions.

the gentle cycle of life goes on for the men of the xenos arrow.
i've been having the most vivid dreams lately, from murder to robert smith coming over to jam. i don't know what to make of it because usually i never dream. or i never remember my dreams.
i went and saw morrissey the other night. enjoyed it so much more than i thought i would (i was still bumming i missed out on tix to elliot smith last week). but it was alright, moz dipped back into the smiths catalogue for a few gems.
the quest for a drummer continues: we are working on a few leads and really hope to be bringing the rawk back on soon. thanx to those who still remember and are kind enough to offer encouragement when we meet. i swear we're trying!
ostinato plays tonight (yeah!) so that's good.

very exciting, the new year and all. everything fresh, if not a little drab after a month spent jaunting around the area being fabulous at holiday parties. but we of the the xenos arrow are happy, due to the opening of our new rock house. that's the unofficial moniker of our new rehearsal space (one hopefully bigger than a utility closet) which we will move into tonight. hopefully proper rehearsal space = drummer...we'll see. pics will follow eventually. there are a few new concert pics from late '98 to remind everyone what a rock show looks like, and i'll update all the ole content, so don't die wondering...
to the young lady who inquired about our tex 
and his marital status: i'm happy to report he's currently not married. oh, and here's your site update, happy?
