Tori Amos
American singer/ songwriter Tori Amos, born in Newton, North Carolina, 1963, is the daughter of a Methodist preacher and well-known for her emotional piano and singing art. In the 80's she started making music in a punk band called Y Can't Tori Read, but soon decided to go solo. Her debut album Little Earthquakes, released in 1991, was a million- selling piece of art including the classic "Crucify" and "Silent All These Years". The follow up "Under The Pink" also became quite succesful and saw yet another hit single with "Cornflake Girl". In 1996 she released "Boys For Pele" and 2 years later "From The Choirgirl Hotel", probably her best album so far. Tori has also paid tribute to other artists by covering songs like Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and The Rolling Stones' "Angie".
