INTERVIEWER: It's fantastic playing venues this size when you started out writing these songs, and performing them and you had a (??) that just grew and grew and grew, and the record cracked open, and now you're coming back to town, playing huge outfits (?). It must make you feel good inside
ROB: It feels good. It feels odd because we're.... because it is the same record, and the same songs, and it us, just us. And everything kinda goes on. I mean everything that just goes on around you, as opposed to things that actually happen to you. So...We're still the same geeks we were when we started, only everybody's perception of you changes.
INTERVIEWER: You got any theorise as to why or how you have come so sucessful in Australia?
ROB: Well I think it did well here, for whatever reason it did well here, you know. It could have been... well you'd hope as a songwriter because people like your songs. That's what I keep telling myself, to make sure my head stays together. But, Australia isn't that much different from here, as far as just being able to sit down and carrying on a conversation. Just sit down and being able to sit down in a room full of Australians, and Americans and tell a joke. You know, if it's a funny joke, everybody's going to laugh, you know what I mean? If you're watching a movie about Australians, you not just totally freaked about this unbelievably different culture. You know? Romance, relationships, it's not all that different. And this record isn't about anything really except about relationships between people, and it figures, if it would do well here, it seems that it would do well there, because it's something that would just makes sense to everyone.
INTERVIEWER: Girl like that" I think is the next single that's being released to co-inside with the tour. Do you just want to give us the rave as to where that comes from?
ROB: Girl like that was a lot about a girl I was just obsessed with, for no reason at all, just completely obsessed. She treated me like total dirt, and I obviously loved it because I would just stay around and stay around and...
Paul: (laughs) That's unusual
ROB:(laughs) yeah... and um....um....Thanks Paul for throwing me off track....
PAUL: Sure.... had to do something
INTERVIEWER: You were obsessed about a girl...
ROB: yeah... (tries to remember)I was obsessed about this girl and that was my whole thing.... is...if you get a girl like that, them any love at all is better than having nothing for it. I'll take it you know? If she's nice to me every now and then, I'll take it.

ROB: yeah... we never want to be number one... there's just too much pressure We wanna be number three.
PAUL: Plus if you're number 1 where can you go? Really. Number three and you've always got something to strive for. None higher
Rob: none higher
PAUL: the answers none more
ROB: none more higher [good english guys!]
INTERVIEWER: Well Congratulations for having the number one album in Australia for the year.
ROB: That is unbelievable by the way. We had a number one record in Australia before we had one in the States. It never went to number one here, it went to number four, five, something like that so that was just amazing. Australia's like if we could we would live there now, at this point.
