Malevolent Creation
"The Fine Art of Murder"
System Shock/Pavement Music (www.impact-records.com)
Malevolent Creation have first impressed me with their debut "The Ten Commandments" released back in 1991. And ever since then I've reckoned this band as one of the fastest, yet striking with heaviness, representatives of death metal, although some may put them into the death/trash vein. In "The Fine Art of Murder" I can still hear the tunes from 1991, although more than 8 years have passed and I lost track of them for a while. Nevertheless, Malevolent Creation are back and the myth for the Florida-based death metal is here as well. You remember the times when Florida was the holy land for death metal and Morrisound Studio was the holy legend of metal. Well, here you are again with this stunning release - all I can say about this album is that it is made in Florida. Featuring here are the returned singer Bret Hoffmann, returned guitarist Rob Barret and a new bass player - Gordon Simms. Get this one, (along with "Eternal" - reviewed elsewhere in this site) and lock your doors for a no-escape listen to one hour of living madness. Meanwhile we should be quite soon expecting yet another stunning release in the long history of Malevolent Creation - the opus "In Cold Blood".
