What's up in the world of Queen? Read all about it, here!

BACK! And better than ever!!

Well, I'm into the sixth year of Elle's Queen Page and it's still going strong. After revamping many areas of the site (including the Profiles, Multimedia, Photos and a brand new analysis and much much more), I decided to update you on WHY the suddenly did this.

It could be one of many things, maybe I owed it to my fans (pfft I hear you sigh), I got interested again or maybe even Queen were getting into some interesting projects. All of these are partially true but I guess the essence of it is that I wanted to see if I was proud or ashamed of what I did with this site. On the whole, I can't believe EQP is so massive - and I didn't spend much time on it at all. As for content, I still find it pretty funny, I don't know if others see it the same way though. These new improvements however, don't completely disregard the way it was, just the way it would be had I worked at it.

Otherwise, on the Queen front, the guys have been up to a lot lately.. The Melbourne production of WE WILL ROCK YOU is closing on Monday night & I know a few people who are checking out the final performance. I saw it a few nights ago and it was honestly a great production. It was so laden with Queen references even though the musical wasn't directly about the band itself. Each character was out of a Queen song, almost each line in the play was some ironic phrase coined by one of the guys. One thing I didn't like about it was that it was in fact a musical, so the vocal lines was SO hammed up you wondered how it beared any kind of resemblance to the original. Not that their voices weren't utterly amazing, it was just a musical. HMMM.. Also, I managed to buy very cute "Guaranteed to blow your mind" underwear. :D

There's also news of a Pepsi commercial (with Pink, Beyonky and Britney) being aired in the UK using the WWRY as a hiphop anthem. Bri & Rog can even be spotted in the crowds too. It hasn't been aired in Australia yet, but the whole thing is anticipated yada yada yada. I wonder who's gonna cover it next? For other news, check out Brian's site . Makes for v interesting reading...

Keep yourself alive ladies and gentlemen, this is El signing off on March 4 2004!

Well what has it been? Like 3 years??

Fear not, Elle is back. It is 2003 and I am finally legal (18 years old, you hear that gentlemen?). Still love my music (including Queen, yes). Musical tastes have broadened out a little, love everything british, everything 80's, everything new wave and slightly depressing. Not much has changed, except I'm outta school. Loving uni, doin my dream course (law: it's totally not dead boring, quite my thing). Got my own radio show @ SUBFM , two hours every Monday. Actually thinking about doing a Queen special, so I'll keep you guys posted so all can listen online.

There has been so much going on in the Queen world, even for a defunct band. Recently went to the VIP launch party for Queen's new musical, WE WILL ROCK YOU in Melbourne. Completely surreal going to party with Brian May & Roger Taylor. I was completely determined to meet the guys, but I guess I was too gobsmacked to accost them. Wanted to audition to play violin in the orchestra, but then got turned away with a blatantly obvious realisation that a rock music isn't going to need a violin. Hmmph. Anyway, the musical is opening in Melbourne's Regent Theatre August 7. Try and catch it, looks like a goodie.

Anyway, here are some of the things which have happened without my fabulous narrative:
=>numerous DVD releases, including the Greatest Hits Collection, Freddie's Tribute Concert, A Knights Tale, Highlander and A Night At the Opera (for some reason...)
=>many a fantastic concert by Jase & Luke's coverband Fat Bottomed Girls . Check em out. They're local & they're incredible.
=>Brian & Roger coming to Australia *cue hysterical screaming*
=>Travis, Robbie, Vanguard, Five and the rest of the rock world covering a Queen song. What's new?
=>The bizarre uncovering of incredible tracks such as Freddie's tracks with Michael Jackson & Cliff Richard, Queen I demos and other things I can't think of now. Man, the existence of these tracks were just speculation when I was a true fan!

Anyway, I hope to be updating this site a whole lot more now year 12 is over (YEAH!) Much love you lotatarts :D, Elle G xx April 27 2003

HEY EVERYONE!

Well, quite a bit has been going on this month, some good, some bad and some indifferent. So here's the lowdown.... Last week I went to the 7th Australian Queen Convention here in Melbourne and I had a really good time. I'll eventually write up a thing about it, but just to cut a long story short, it was a lot of fun :) .. Some bad news I have is my stupid fudged up computer, which has chosen to forget its identity and DELETE EVERYTHING ON DRIVES D:\, E:\, F:\, G:\ AND H:\. And let me tell you, that is a hell of alot of Queen pictures (about 30 meg worth). I am so freaked about it, all my stories, HTMLS, about 900 MP3s, images, e-mails; I don't know how I'll recover! Nooo! So, guys, I'll see what I can do; I doubt very much ;-( In a week or to, I'm getting my wisdom teeth taken out and jaw surgery which is going to be considerably painful. I hope to do my overanalysis about the convention after that but no promises! So what else? Of course many of you will know about the stunning (and expensive, tres expensive) Freddie Mercury Box Set which has recently been released. It has 10, very rare and beautiful, CDs, 2 DVDs and a couple of books. It's gorgeous. It's also about $345 (Australian, my dear god..). Also, Brian is honeymooning with Anita in Rome after their Kensington wedding two weeks ago. C'est bon.

D'accord mes enfants, a bientot! Elle x

Hi Everyone!

Well, it's been a while since I've updated my page. I've actually decided to make my page more comprehensible rather than adding more things to it. It has become rather difficult to fix some of the problems (considering the lovely work the screwed up Frontpage Express has done to it) so it could take a while. Some of the things I am doing are, fixing the messy backgrounds, fixing my spelling mistakes, correcting misinformed information and taking away the "Agate Normal" font. I realised after a few mere months of this great font that it only works on about 2% of computers viewing my page. Hopefully this will make my page more user friendly.

Well, what now? Recently, Five and Queen have staged a comeback with We Will Rock You... Most of my friends have asked me what I think about it, and to tell you the truth I haven't really decided about my stance. I could've imagined myself, 12 months ago with this news, being absolutely furious about it, but I don't know. The guys seem to be happy with the tacky remake. I wouldn't be proud of it but what are you going to do? Both of them are certainly into for the pocket so I don't see any great passion in it.

In Australia, the convention is coming up in Melbourne. It's on the 25/11 at Attwood somewhere. I'm still deciding whether to go with some friends, so I'll keep you guys posted on it.

Oh yes! Forgot to tell you guys! I have finally got my hands on a copy of Hyde Park, Hammersmith Odeon, Tokyo 75, Madrid 79, Brian May instruction video and a few other tidbits. Been doing alot of happy watching. Thank you again, Tina! Thanks a bunch :-)

Just to wrap things up, I'll apologize for my lacking passion fowarded at Queen this month. I'm currently directing my passion at something else, if you know what I mean...

That's it for me!
Love, Elle??? (14/9/2000)

Well, some shocking things have been going on this month, read on..

O NO!! I found out just recently that the much anticipated Roger tour of Australia is just a rumour. I do believe he IS going to tour, but he just hasn't put the dates out. Roger has planned his UK tour but that's the only official part of his tour. It's so confusing.

This month I've been in dealing in getting the Hyde Park video, but whatever you do the fudged up Ozzie dollar is screwing the world!!! Damn you money!!!!!!!!

Also, if you'd like to trade, I've got a few videos I could trade with you in exchange of the Hammersmith Odeon 75, Hyde Park 76, Earls Court 77, Marquee 72 or Budokun 75. Mega sexy shows. (NB I haven't got these.. these are ones i'm looking 4)

I've been working on new areas in my page, including the much anticipated '1999 Totally Sexy Queen Awards'. Check it out. It is really something ;-D. Also I have been scrapping some parts of my page and cleaning my act up a bit. I think you've noticed the long waits 4 pics to come up, distracting backgrounds etc etc etc. Sorry about that. Parts I'm removing are the Postcards (sorry, the company is fudged up), Rhye Room (loss of traffic) and fixing up the game. sorry for the backgrounds. They'll be working ASAP. It's fantastic, trust me.

At last of all, I'm making a Queen game/offline multimedia database called 'JAZZ' that will be released very very soon. It's going to be the next Bijou. Eat it *cackle*.

Have a Queenie day.
Elle x

THANK GOD IT'S CHRISTMAS!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well, there's been heaps of things around in the Queen section going around here. To start off, I have gotten awarded *just* with a Silver award from #Queenfan. One of the obvious problems with me getting the award was the obvious you can see, the backgrounds. Yes, I am so sorry it takes around 30 minutes to show up and they are so darn obtrusive to the writing. But you have to admit, they are pretty cool pictures. Just highlight the words and you'll be fine ;-).

The Brian May concert was great. I'm really upset about the critics through. None of those reporters have no clues at all, one article I read, an interviewer was trying to drag an apology from Brian about writing Fat Bottomed Girls. Now, is this guy a loser or what?!

Now, guess what ppl!! I heard Roger might be touring!! I thought the opportunity would never cross anyday, just the thought of seeing another member of Queen made me faint. It's fantastic cuz my friend and I have this -joke- about Roger. Wow, isn't this a beautiful day? The only thing that would make me happier is if Roger shaved his goatee off *voodoo doll handy & shaving utensils handy*

I am happy to say that I am now a proud owner of Live At The Rainbow, which I am still esctatic about. Still desparate about Hyde Park. Anyone in Australia willing to help me?

I have a Queen interview picture disc which has some pretty strange markings on it. I've never seen in cataloged anywhere and i don't know if it's rare or anything, but it's got this weird writing on it. I think you can paste the story together, here are the messages: "Hi Derek! Another cocky cataloge number, huh?" "A porny prime, CT" "12+BR+83" and on the other side: "12+BR+83" "ORLAKE". Yes, obviously, it's just cat numbers and stuff, but you can't help wonder... is CT, Crystal? We might never know...

For Xmas this year, I finaly got Live Killers *gasp* and I also funnily got two books from my brothers which is amazing, cuz they hate me. I got "Queen: The Full Picture" which is like a private picturebook of Queen on tour. Majorly cool, and also a biography "Queen: The Early Years" which is cool. It's got stuff like Sour Milk Sea and stuff. Isn't that such a cool name?

Well, that's enough from me, until next month, keep yourself alive Queen fans! Love Elle x

HOT!

I'm launching a great game onto my site, especially to get my hands on that Killer Site Award for Best Games. It'll be put on the next couple of days and I hope you enjoy it! It totally rocks!

Guess what? I'm going to see Brian in concert on the 23rd of November at the Palais in Melbourne! After making my parents feel majorly guilty about not sending me to Sydney for the Queen convention, I finally got my tix. I'll tell you the details after the show. I've heard it's going to be a blast.

As we all know, it's approaching the saddening 7th anniversary of the day Freddie died of AIDS where, as we all know, we will be in mourning. At least I will. To remember the legend on the day, listen to CDs such as Innuendo, or Made In Heaven, listen beyond the meanings and remember; legends never die.

As regular visitors might know, I'm a 13 year old trendsetter from Melbourne who likes to give people a piece of their mind. Well, guess what Queen fans! I've started the trend of black fingernails! Wear black nail polish on your left hand or if your a Brian fan, wear white on your right. Brian used to sctrach off the white from his left because it used to annoy him.

Just a few days ago I got a custom Queen T-shirt made for the concert. It's a plain white Tee with a Queen crest on the left with the words "Queen II" on the top (a pic from Queen II) and on the back there's my fave pic with the four head appearing from nowhere:

brianmay@queen-fip.com NB: Please note that Brian might not get to respond for some reason or another, so please don't get mad at me! He is incredibly busy and let him live. Thank you.

Well, that's all for this month! See ya! Love Elle x
