"More Than A Woman" is 911's tenth single release & with nine Top 40 singles already under their belt and two successful album releases, 911 are no strangers to the UK charts. Since forming in 1996, the band have had Top 5 success with pop favourites "Party People", "Bodyshakin", "All I Want Is You", and "The Journey" in the UK. A Little Bit More Update911 have released 10 single to date all of which have achieved Top 40 status in the UK, their home market, of which 7 have hit the Top 10. They are the UK's biggest all male pop group. No other act can claim to have had so many hits in just two and a half years. Their last single release "More Than A Woman" is their highest ranking hit to date, storming into the chart at number 2. January 1999 sees the release of 911's eleventh single "A Little Bit More". Originally released by Dr Hook & the Medicine Show in 1976 when it hit the number two spot in the UK many regard the song as a classic. 911 have recorded a haunting version of the song, simple yet infectious, the strong vocals from lead singer Lee Brennan will surprise many. He describes it as a song that "gets in your head" and couldn't wait for the chance to record it. As well as planning their next UK Arena tour, 911 have been putting all their energies into recording their much-talked about third album "There It Is". Unlike any pop group before them the band has decided to record a whole set of classic pop covers. Fifty of 911's favorite songs were whittled down by Lee, Spike and Jimmy to 12 before they called in the legendary Rude Boy and his team of heavy weight producers including Nigel Lewis (Eternal, Louise), Steve Levine (Honyz, Culture Club), Trevor Steele and John Holiday (Boyzone, Louise). "There It Is" will be released in the month of January 1999 hot on the heels of "A Little Bit More" which will hit the streets early January. - source EMI Malaysia |
