Friday, January 28, 2000 Youth Quake A Night For Die-Hard 911 FansBy Che Gaik Li What happenend,
911 fans? Where were you? After a rousing performance by local band Soulstreet and Danish band Jucie, the trio got the ball rolling. They staried off dancing to the beat of Bodyshakin', performing incredible stunts including a flip here and there. This got everyone in the crowd moving to 911's trademark bodyshake dance. Immmediately after, they slowed down with their famous ballads, How Do You Want Me To Love You, which got the crowd screaming and waving even more. Jimmy Constable must have made many heart beat a lot faster when he winked and said; "I love you too". Lee Brennan went one up with the crowd by singing, 'How do you want me to love you, Malaysia?". The crowd went wild. As the hall was not packed, Lee invited those who were seating to come down to the dance floor to party along the rest. The respone was almost immediate and the dance floor was soon filled with people. The trio sang mostly ballads, and when Lee crooned If You'd Only Love Me, there were people in the audience with tears flowing down their cheeks. Then Jimmy came out to sing Reunited but the crowd didn't go wild. So I guess we know who most of the fans were interested in. Many expected Spike Dawbarn to sing a solo too but he only waved a little to his fans. With the string of ballads, the concert became atad boring. The boys must have noticed for they promised more dancing after singing Alittle Bit More and The Journey. They sang Bee Gees' remix of More Than A Woman wearing grey tops and pants pants. This was followed by Don't Make Me Wait a sleek dance number number which make the crowd get up on their feet again. They then asked the crowd if they wanted to make a song request, and the fans promptly answered Love Sensation! But Lee and Jimmy apologised, saying they didn't include the song in the programme but promised to try to sing it later. They sang Wonderland which got some fans crying even harding. you could hear the fans screaming their idols' names at the top of their lungs. Some were fantically waving their light sticks. After saying their goodbyes the boys, as promised, sang Love Sensation.
