About Me: The Long Version

This is the Japanes Super Hero and crime fighter Tetsuwan Atom which (roughly translated) means "Iron-arm Atom". In English he's called either Mighty Atom or Astro Boy. He was created by Osameu Tezuka and is probably the most popular cartoon figure ever in Japan. He made his first appeared in a boy's magazine in 1952 and the actual tv episodes ran from 1963 through to 1966. The Super Hero has seven different powers and a strong sense of justice with which he defends society from threats posed by humans, robots and even alien villains.
I'm a keen collector of any Astro Boy items and my collection includes stuff from keyrings, stickers and face cloths to socks, bags and tee-shirts...Loads of hugs to my Japanese friends Akane, Keiko and Momoe for constantly helping me expanding my collection.
I totally love lava lamps and I find them one of the most ultimate symbols of the 60's. The original inventor is the English Mathmos who has manufactured the amazing lava lamp since 1963. The lamps always have been and still are produced in a factory in Poole, Dorset. My own one is an Astro model with blue liquid and green bubbles. The Astro was originally based on a wartime egg-timer and was invented by Mr. Craven-Walker. Its height is 42 cm. I can actually spend hours looking at my lava lamp and I'm kinda fascinated by the constant, yet slow, movements which often help de-stressing me and clear my thoughts. So, not only do lava lamps create a cool 60's atmosphere in the room, they are also pure therapy, I tell you!
