Chapter Four

Kevin sat quietly on the bathroom floor with the door closed. He just sat against the wall, after hearing everything that Leighanne had told Brian, and that Christina had told Leighanne. 'She was raped?' Kevin asked himself quietly. He shook his head quietly, trying to get rid of the image in his mind. He sunk lower onto the ground and just stared at the sink. 'Why didn't she tell me?' Kevin asked. He heard someone get out of the bunk and walk to the table and sit down. Kevin slowly got up and opened the door. He looked at the table and saw Christina sitting down on one end, just staring at the other side of the the table. Kevin sighed and walked towards her. 'Chris?' he asked quietly. Christina looked up at him and smiled softly. 'Hey Kevin,' she said as she scooted over to make room. Kevin said down next to her and lifted her chin up as Christina turned to face him. 'Chris, I know what you told Leighanne,' Kevin said. He saw Christina's eyes fill up with tears as she looked down. 'I'm sorry Kev,' she said quietly. Kevin shook his head. 'Christina, it's okay, it wasn't your fault, and once we get back to Florida, we can turn him in, it'll work out okay?' Kevin asked. Christina shook her head. 'No it won't, I feel so dirty Kevin, and I didn't even tell you, it's been five months,' Christina said quietly. 'Chris, it's going to be okay, I love you, and that's all that matters,' Kevin said. Christina looked up at Kevin, it was the first time that he had said 'I Love You.' 'What did you say?' she asked. 'I love you Christina,' Kevin said. Christina's eyes filled with tears and she sat up straighter, taking her face out of Kevin's hand. She looked down at her hands, which looked more interesting then he did at the moment. 'Christina?' Kevin asked quietly. He reached out to touch her but Christina withdrew from his touch. 'You don't love me do you?' Kevin asked her quietly, more hurt showing in his voice then pain. Christina tried to wipe off the tears but failed. 'I just need time Kevin, I feel so guilty right now,' she said. 'But you didn't do anything,' Kevin said. 'I know, but right now, I don't feel comfortable saying that, he made me feel worthless, you don't know how bad I'm feeling right now,' Christina said. Kevin sighed. 'Christina, I'm sorry,' Kevin said. Christina shook her head. 'No, I am,' she said. 'I love you, never forget that,' Kevin said. He saw more tears fall from Christina's eyes. 'You don't love me do you Chris? Tell me the truth,' he said. Christina looked down. 'Right now I'm not sure,' she said quietly. 'You're not sure of the way you feel about me?' Kevin asked. Christina looked down. 'Just give me time please Kevin?' she asked. Kevin looked away. 'I don't know if I can do that,' he said quietly. Christina looked at him shocked. 'Is that really you talking Kevin? You are not talking like the jerk you are right now!' she asked amazed. Kevin just continued staring out the window. 'Like I said Christina, I'm not sure if I can do that,' he said as he got up and walked away. Christina watched him walk away and she started crying silently. She felt a hand on should and looked up to see Leighanne, instantly, Leighanne had her arms around her in a comforting hug. Kevin walked away from the table sadly. 'Why did I say that to her? That makes me sound like such a jerk, why did I freaking say that when I was about to give her this?' Kevin thought of the box in his pocket. He felt a tear drip down his cheek as he sat down in his bunk. He put his head in his hands and silently cried. He heard someone walking and sitting down next to him. 'Couz?' Brian asked softly. Kevin looked up at the bunks across from him. 'I was a huge jerk,' he said looking at the ground. Brian sighed. 'Kevin, you guys will get over it,' he said. Kevin shook his head. 'No, I was a jerk, she needed my help and what did I do? I ditched her!' Kevin said. Brian put his arm around Kevin's shoulders. 'Do you still have the box?' he asked. Kevin nodded and pulled the thin box out of his pocket and handed it to Brian. Brian opened it and saw the necklace there with a key. 'You still going to give it to her?' he asked. Kevin shrugged. 'I'm not sure,' he said. Brian stood up. 'Well, I will then,' he said. 'Brian, you don't have to,' Kevin said. 'No, I want you two together,' Brian said. 'Okay, well, give it to her, and tell her that if she still wants to be with me, have her wear it to the concert, if not, I guess she won't wear it,' Kevin said. Brian nodded and gave Kevin a small hug. 'Why don't you just lie in your bunk and rest okay couz? I'll handle this stuff,' he said as he walked towards the girls. Kevin nodded and laid in his bunk. He faced the wall and just stared at it, for on that wall, were a bunch of pictures that he had put up, pictures of him and Christina.
