Chapter One, A Sudden Vacation

"I wish that people would leave me alone!" Minerva shouted slamming down the phone.

"What's wrong Min?" Minerva's best friend Laura asked startled.

"Oh it's nothing big." Minerva sighed then added, "That was a company I work for and they seem to be having some problems with their computers so now I have to go out there over the weekend and see if I can help them."

"Wow that's a bummer" Laura said symathetically.

"Yeah, all this work is really getting to me." Minerva said sighing.

"Hey, where is this company located at anyway?" Laura asked suddenly.

"It is located in California why?" Minerva asked puzzled.

"Well since the work is getting to you, why not go down to California and after you help the company out, we can both take a vacation. Neither of us has had one in like 2 years right? Well I think we both deserve one." Laura said excitedly.

"That is a good idea." Minerva admitted.

"Of course that's a good idea!" Laura shouted and began smiling when she saw the look of adventure on her friends face.

"Alright but you have to take care of reservations and such, I will provide funding and spare no expense! We deserve this!" Minerva said.

"Yep we sure as hell do!" Laura agreed.

Laura and Minerva both worked at the same company, in fact, Minerva owned the company and Laura was the Vice President. The were nearly the same as partners for Blue Jay Electronics, which was a computer company that specialized in computer chips for mechanics that invloved heavy labor and the computers to operate them, such as automated cranes to demolish building and even to toy products. The company grossed over 2.5 billion a year and Minerva and Laura both donated heavily to charities and the company annually threw a charity ball to donate funds to orphanages and hospitals around the world. In fact they were known in the newspapers as the "Twin Fairy Godmothers" because they also contributed heavily to the Make-a-Wish foundation. Minerva was only 28 and Laura was a few months younger. At this young age they were also beseiged by reporters who had nothing better to do.
