Eternity X: Mind Games (1995)
The perfect album from the perfect band. The album is 100% perfection. "Firestorm" opens this set up and is one of those songs that just keeps your head moving the whole time. "Mind Games" follows and this song is very complex, it starts out acoustic and then slowly builds into a heavy song- much like Savatage did with "Gutter Ballet" in 1989, only this is uniquely done. "The Chase" follows which is a bass instrumental and this song really keeps moving throughout the whole two minutes. "The Saviour And The Disease" is just plain evil-sounding and Keith Sudano sounds so pissed in this song yet so amazing. "Despair" follows which is a soft and sweet ballad that truly belongs with the best of them. "Crawl Before You Walk" is a true prog-rock masterpiece.....you have to hear it to believe it. Next up are two songs that could've been dismissed and replaced with some better tunes (but still okay, none the less), the electronic sounding "Viper" and the upbeat "Faith" (no, not the George Michael cover, an original). Following is "Endless Journey" which features some epic guitar work which gives me goosebumps every time. "Eulogy" is the last song on the album and it reminds me of something off Trans-siberian Orchestra. This song, which is all acoustic, brings me to tears everytime. The two bonus cuts are "Eternity" which is an absolute must-have for any Eternity fan and "Switchblade" which I didn't care for.
