Who IS Jill Scott?

Who dat is? That's Jill Scott. The Philly native who is making major waves in the music industry. With her D'Angeloesque beats and her soulful sound, Jill Scott is definitely radical.

Although people will inevitably compare Jill Scott to the likes of Erykah Badu and Angie Stone, they will be truly be off-base. Why? Because Ms. Scott has her own groove.

She describes her background as one full of block parties, cute boys, double dutch, ass whuppins, collard greens, hungs and Kool-Aid. Jill believes her music speaks through her, and she's hoping to use it to move those around her. It's all that and then some.

With songs like "Do You Remember," "Gettin' In The Way," and "A Long Walk," it's no doubt that "Who Is Jill Scott?" can easily be deemed one of the best albums of the year.

Right now Jill is getting mad exposure as she kicks off the season premiere of the "Chris Rock Show" on August 18th.
