SISQÓ

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Sisqó was singing in the church by the age of five. Raised in a middle-class family environment, he also ran into a little trouble when he was arrested three times for some pretty petty stuff: twice for fighting, and once for taking a pager to school. By fourteen, he'd overcome his behavior issues and became serious about music. After meeting classmates James (Woody) Green, Tamir (Nokio) Ruffin, and Larry (Jazz) Anthony, and forming the group Dru Hill, the guy's focused on getting Baltimore on the map. Well they've done that and then some.

Ever since the group's first single "Tell Me", Dru Hill has continued to blow up the charts with their perfect four-part harmonies and their versatility. But as we all know, in every group, one artist will shine the most and Sisqó has been this group's Golden Child from day one.

Being lead singer, playing keyboard, bass and being involved in the arrangement and production of Dru Hill's music prepared Sisqo for his own solo project. After writing both of R&B songstress Mya's first two hits, "It's All About Me" and "Movin' On," he also choreographed the dance steps in Mya's video "It's All About Me", in which he also appeared.

In 1999, Sisqó dropped a bomb on the idustry. His solo cd "Unleash The Dragon," which was recorded in five short weeks, was a major success. Sisqó was launched into the limelight, leaving his Dru Hill crew in the dust. He had several number one hits such as "Got To Get It," "Thong Song," and "Incomplete." He even featured his daughter Shaione in the opening of the "Thong Song" video, sparking a whole new media frenzy about his fatherhood and squashing rumors about his sexuality.

Sporting a new platinum look, a body full of tattoos and major attitude for days, Sisqó has back-flipped, cartwheeled and gyrated his way into the hearts of many new fans as well as all the old Dru Hill fans. The single the "Thong Song" spun out of control and was named "the official anthem of Spring Break 2000" by MTV, as the video quickly became the most-played video on the network. Over the summer, Sisqó toured with N'Sync, made songs with DMX, hosted a show on MTV, won a shelf full of awards and did a "Thong Song" remix with Foxy Brown for the movie 'Nutty Professor 2'. He has also started up his own record label called: Da Ish.

Sisqó has appeared in his first co-starring role in the film "Get Over It," which is about a high school boy who loses his girlfriend and will do anything to get her back.

All said and done, Sisqó is a very busy man, but not too busy produce. Sisqó has produced for the female group LovHer and a rap group the Associates. And don't forget that he sealed a deal for his own clothing line of male urban wear. The 'Dragon Collection By Sisqó'.

Although Dru Hill fans were patiently waiting for the group to come back together and make music only as Dru Hill can, they had to wait just a bit longer as Sisqó put out his secon solo project called "Return of The Dragon". Unfortunately for Sisqó, his sophomore efforts didn't even come close to measuring up to his first solo album, for fortunately for Dru Hill fans, Sisqó returned to the pack.

Dru Hill returned early in 2003 to release a new album called, "Dru World Order" and had yet another surprise for their fans. They added a fifth member named Scola. But for some people, Sisqó is still the star of the show.

If you can't get enough of his platinum royalty, just go to his official Web site at: www.sisqo.com and check him out for yourself.
