Mr. X-to-the-Z

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Xzibit lived with his mother until the age of 9. Unfortunately his mother passed away, leaving the 9-year-old Xzibit to quickly become a man. At 10, Xzibit was brought to New Mexico to live with his father who had remarried and relocated to the southwest. Believe it or not, that’s when Xzibit began writing rhymes, at just 10 years old.

After some more shuffling around, Xzibit finally found a home in Arizona, and that’s when things started to go bad for him. By the age of 14, he had to be taken out of his home by the state because of his wild behavior. He was released from state custody when he turned 17 since at that age he was recognized as an adult. That’s when X to the Z made his move to Cali.

After arriving in Cali X hooked up with Broadway (an LA producer) in ’92, but when things didn't work out on that end, X chose to ride solo. A few years later when he began to get his swagger on, he again caught the attention of Broadway who introduced him to Tha Alkaholiks, who hooked him up with King Tee. But his realy talents weren't recognized by the masses until he appeared on the track "Freestyle Ghetto," and that's when he started setting things off.

In 1996 X released his first cd, "At The Speed Of Life." "Enemies & Friends" on "At the Speed of Life" were some hot tracks. It was this solo debut that propelled Xzibit out of the darkness and into the light. His jump-start as an underground rapper was finally paying off as he was finally getting recognized in the mainstream public.

By '98 when he released "40 Dayz & 40 Nightz" Xzibit had become a household name to serious hip hop heads. Heads were bouncin' to hits like the basement-bouncing-booty-jam, "Pussy Pop," (featuring Method Man and Jayo Felony) and "3 Card Molly" (with Saafir and Ras Kass) and my joint was "What U See Is What U Get" and don't let me forget "Focus" which was a club banger in my area.

Following his success, Xzibit kept busy working with Dr. Dre, Kurupt and Snoop. He also toured with Eminem and the crew for the Anger Management Tour which was a ridiculous hit with the fans.

In 2000, Xzibit released his third solo cd "Restless." On this cd, he collabed with KRS One, Dre, Nate Dogg, Eminem and DJ Quick. He also released an all access DVD called "Xzibit, Restless Xposed" which was a full length, all-access view of the hottest behind-the-scenes footage of various tours including the Anger Management Tour with Limp Bizkit, Eminem, D12 and Papa Roach.

2002 brought forth "Man Vs. Machine" and X dropped "Symphony in X Major," "(Hit U) Where it Hurts," and "Multiply." “Weapons of Mass Destruction” will be X’s next cd and fans are waiting to see what he’s got in store for us. If you catch CSI: Miami” on Monday, May 10th on CBS you can catch a sample of his single “Ride & Smoke” which will be on the new WMD cd.
