I also just signed the guestbook at the "Fascination Street" page, so if I repeat myself, I apologize. I've been an intense fan for almost 13 years (I started young), but that soon morphed itself into an obsession after the "Wild Mood Swings" tour. That was the first time I ever saw them in concert, and I was in unrecoverable love. Although I'm ecstatic with Bloodflowers, I'm also saddened by the thought that it could be the final Cure album. Of course if Robert decides to continue to record solo, I won't be disappointed, but the end of the cure would certainly be the end of an important musical era. (For me anyway.) So, in order to lessen my impending depression over that tragedy, I hope to attend more than one of the shows slated for the US tour. I think that should make me feel a bit better. So why did it take me this long to join a "fanclub"? Well, I guess that I was wary of any one or thing that purported to have a connection with the actual band. And besides, I hadn't been aware of any "official" fanclub for the cure. (Now I know why--Robert was right.) So I was finally proven wrong by "Club America," and I couldn't be happier!! I now know that I'm not the only person (especially in MO) who is as diehard an admirer as I. Thank you. I would love to chat with anyone who feels as passionately about the cure as I do.

I got an advanced copy of BLOODFLOWERS!! Here's my review.. It started off kind of disappointing as I felt the opening track "Out of This World" was too WILD MOOD SWINGSish, but as I listened to it more it grew on me. The 2nd track "Watching Me Fall" at times reminds me of Jimi Hendrix, Radiohead and early Cure li e Shake Dog Shake-"Yeah, the room is small, the room is bright". It is heavy on the guitar and Robert screams very passionatley several times near the end as his guitar squeals and screams underneath. I am fortunate to have an album version like the Japan se that includes the 10th song which will be a B-side in North America-that song is called "Coming Up". Simon plays a mean dungeon bass reminisent of CURVE's Dean Garcia sound, in fact I call it a CURE-VE song because it's a Cure/Curve song as far as soun goes. It is quite good. Other songs like "The Last Day of Summer" will bring tears to the eyes of the die hard fan at the last summer date of this tour as I think this will be the last. With words like "It used to be so easy, I never even tried/ The last day of summer, never felt so cold/The last day of summer never felt so old.."The music to this song has Robert's classic "guitar that sound like bells sound" as well as twinkling piano reminding me of Disintegration type of melancholy. The song "There is o if" is a good one too with awesome lyrics and melancholy "If you die, you said/So do I, you said.../ There is no if, just when" The track "The Loudest Sound" is a quiet dreamy piece with a really neat sounding drum machine sound. "39" is Robert feeling down about his age and wailing the blues on his guitar like he was his hero Jimi Hendrix or something. eople like me who miss Porl Thompson's guitar wailings will be satisfied as Robert shows no restraint in songs like this and "Watching Me Fall". The last song is the song I've been waiting for since Disintegration was released. Put it this way, if Pornogr phy's "The Figurehead" and Disintegration's "Closedown" were to mate and have offspring-this song would be it! "The time always comes, to say goodbye/This tide always turns I said, this night always falls again/These flowers, will always die..always die.. .." Trust me, this song is beautiful. The album as a whole I think is perfect for them to quit on, Robert (as usual) hints big time that they'll be quitting. I really think he's put everything he's had left into this album. I think this really is goodbye. Good job!
