Although Elvis continued to release many great studio albums in the 70's, it was his live work which truly distinguished this period. Beginning with the 1968 Comeback Special, Elvis returned to live performance and it seemed to be the most important thing to him. In 1970 he gave 135 live performances. In 1973 it was 165 and in 1976 129. Elvis rarely missed a show, because letting down his fans was the last thing he would want to do. And just like Elvis, these albums rarely disappoint.
