Elvis: The 70's Studio Recordings

When Elvis returned to do doing true studio recordings in 1969, he did so in Memphis, the town which will forever be associated with his name.  However the following year, he went back to the place where he had done the bulk of his recordings over his career, but when he returned, this time it was special.  He had just completed an enormously successful comeback and was at the very peak of his musical power.  These sessions in Nashville would become "Elvis Country" and "That's the Way It Is", two of his greatest albums.  And although the 1970's were more associated with his great concerts, he also had many other great studio sessions.  Here, in due time, I will take a look at all of his recordings and help you choose what to buy and what to ignore.  Even though there are only a few albums here now, I will be posting new reviews regularly, so stay tuned !
