Thursday came. After school it took me seconds to finish my homework. I went upstairs and took my contacts out to rest my eyes. I'll skip all the boring stuff. I put on my BSB T-shirt, grabbed a pair of binoculars and made sure the tickets were in my mom's purse and we were off.
It was about 7:00 by the time we got to the concert (we left at 6:30). It was jammed. I wanted a T-shirt and there was a little stand that sold the "Into the Millennium" tour shirts. I bought a shirt and a program and we went inside. We found our seats and they were amazing!!!!! Then the lights went out at about 8:00 and out came Mandy Moore. I didn't think she was very good so my Mom and I went to go get a hot dog. I was so excited I couldn't eat and I ended up throwing out half of the hot dog. Maundy More left the stage and EYC ran out and started to entertain.
By 9:00, the Boys still hadn't come out and the crowd was getting antsy. Every time something on the stage moved, the crowd would start shrieking, thinking it was the Backstreet Band. Every once and a while people would chant "BACKSTREET BOYS" and then they would stop. Finally, the lights went out and the Backstreet Band jogged onto the stage. The crowd went mad. The dancers came out and marched around with tall lanterns. Then the theme song from "Star Wars" blasted from the speakers and our Boys flew in on "spaceboards." To thunderous screams, they landed and marched around the stage with the dancers in military procession. "All you people can't you see, can't you see" marked the start of "Larger than Life." one high energy performance was followed by another because after that they sang "Get Down" and onto "The One" which slowed down the pace of the concert... a little. I don't remember the exact order of songs but I'll tell you what I remember. They sang "Don't Want you Back" which sounded very good considering they were hanging upside-down from ladders for half the song! The hat and chair routines were very impressive. Kevin is not only a talented singer and dancer but he also plays piano. He did his own little solo and then played while the rest of the guys sang "Back to Your Heart." They sang "Spanish Eyes,""No One Else Comes Close to you," the very popular "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)." I don't remember what song it was but the Backstreet Boys got hooked to individual harnesses and flew over the audience and A.J. flew right over me and I almost fainted because he smiled, waved, and say "hello" to me!!! I could've died. Brian waved to me too. I was in heaven. They sang "That's the Way I Like it," "The Perfect Fan," and almost all the songs off the album "Backstreet Boys." Near the end of the concert the introduced the Backstreet Band and the Backstreet dancers. I swear it was the best night of my life. I didn't care if I was half deaf for three days, I saw Brian in person! It was wonderful. The dancers were amazing, the band was amazing, the special effects were amazing (there were a whole bunch of neat explosions and flashing lights and stuff), but most of all the Backstreet Boys were amazing. Brian, A.J.,Howie, Kevin and Nick gave me a night I will never, EVER forget.
Thank for sending this in Laura. Did ya see a concert? How was it? Tell me about it, and I'll post it up here!![]() |
