Also, it has excellent pix and home video footage.   It's just starting out now, and already I'm impressed! Can't wait to see what it'd be like in the future! Good work Tommy! (I added his link to The Docks)

And since they won, MuchMusic showed 2 performances from the upcoming "A Night Out With The Backstreet Boys" video. The songs were "10 000 Promises" and "As Long As You Love Me." AJ shaved and Nick's hair was long kinda like when they were on SNL. (heeheehee)

Read Teej's story! (originally posted on Backstreet Boys newsgroup)
bsbday-.gif (32141 bytes)Well, my roommate and I went there early just so we could be in the front. I think that we got there about 11 a.m. (the ceremony wasn't until 4 p.m., mind you.) Anyway, there wasn't hardly anyone there when we got there so we were right up by the barricades. People didn't really start coming until around 2 p.m. A little while after everyone started to show up, WXXL (106.7) came and turned on some music, which we were all relieved because we were going out of our minds. Well, Kid Cruz and Nikki Knight were the DJs from the radio statoin that were there and they kept the crowd entertained until the ceremony started. Before the mayor came out, they had a special presentation by the Stonewall Jackson Spirit Team (Club?) and it was kinda cute because they were young kids dancing to BSB music...but their cd didn't work, so the crowd helped them out by singing their song. It was fun!

Howie's sister, PollyAnna was there and she was going around signing autographs and picking up presents that fans had brought for the guys. She was a really nice person and talked to me and some friends for a couple of minutes.

Serena Altschul (I don't even know how to BEGIN to spell her last name.) from Mtv was there to do a news thing on the BSB Day events. Also a lot of Orlando news stations were there and it kinda made us mad because they got to be right in front of the barricades and it made it so we couldn't see the podium and the speakers as well.

When the mayor came out and started to introduce the Backstreet Boys and what the whole award was about, the crowd went wild and I went deaf. I had a serious case of tinnitus going on there. It was not fun, let me tell you. =o) Brian and Nick came out first when the mayor was still introducing them, and then they went back inside. When all the guys finally came out, it was nuts there at the City Hall. You couldn't hardly hear what the speakers were saying. The mayor gave out each award to the BSB and Lou Pearlman. Then all the BSB said their thank yous and announced the concerts in Orlando and Tampa around New Years (which made me and my roommate VERY happy campers since we missed going to a BSB concert two times--one here in FL and back home in MI because we moved to Florida.)

The mayor then asked if we (the fans) would like to hear a song from them and they started to sing AIHTG and I think that they got whisked away because all the fans started to jump the barricades. It was not a pretty site. But, all in all, it was a fun time for my roommate and I..being it was our first actual encounter with the BSB.
