Australian group formed in 1979.  Band made up of Micheal Hutchence,
Andrew Farriss, John Farriss, Tim Farriss, Kirk Pengilly, and Garry Beer.

After a couple of hits in Australia, group secured a worldwide  deal and released their third album called Shabooh Shoobah, then toured US with
Kinks and Adam Ant.  Debut UK single "Don't Change" was accepted favorably.

Band built up a loyal following for their brand of muscular yet melodic
rock (comparisons include Simple Minds, Bowie, Psychedelic Furs).In 1987
band finally racked up their first US #1 hit "Need you tonight".

Awarded best International Group at 1991BRIT presentations, with Michael taking International Artist honor!  INXS became an infrequent visitor to the UK/US charts including songs What you Need, New Sensation, Mystify, and Suicide Blonde, throughout the 80s.
