Dive Into Their New Sound

Yes, it's really happening: BSB is working on a new album just for you!

The Backstreet Boys have been so busy with different projects, it's amazing they found time to work on a new album. Once again, our favorite harmonizers prove they're seasoned pros who will continue to produce great music for their fans even while pursuing other passions. For instance, Howie performed a benefit concert to raise money for the Caroline Dorough-Cochran Lupus Memorial Foundation, which will raise money to reserach Lupus, a disease his older sister succumbed to in 1998. "It means the world to me to have the support of friends, family, and the public to help find a cure for Lupus," says Howie. Meanwhile, A.J. used his down time to raise money--almost $150,000--for VH1's Save the Music. Kevin spent his time off to marry longtime love Kristin Willits, while Brian co-produced the independent movie Olive Juice, which will feature performances by both Brian and A.J., as well as Brian's fiancée Leighanne. Nick, meanwhile, waited for the guys to get back to the studio to work on the new album, which should hit stores in the fall.

The guys flew to the Bahamas to brainstorm and found the peace and quiet quite inspiring. They stepped out of the studio to enjoy the paradise-like setting, and Nick, Howie, and Kevin took lessons to become certified scuba divers.

Then it was off to Sweden to work with famed producer Max Martin. The guys hae also been working with writer Diane Warren, so there's sure to be some sweeping ballads. They also worked with Babyface on some R&B tunes, and have contributed their own writing. Kevin will play piano and Nick will show off his talents on the drums. A.J. said the album w ill feature hip-hop, R&B, rock, country, and, of course, a drool-worthy collection of harmonies. "We have a lot of really great stuff," Howie tells fans. "We hope to surprise people with it."
