This
LeShirt was created in 1997 as the 2nd in the group of three that
I marketed at the same time (with the Throwback LeShirt &
Motel 666 reprint).
The idea was a simple one. Once I saw the HUGE anti-flag in Dayton, I knew it must be on a shirt! It was too perfect! Then the rest of shirt ideas just fell into place.
I used a copy of the waving flag from a "selective service" notice from the Post Office. I removed the stars and added the Shock Symbol. I incorporated the same font used on ACS for the repetitive "antichrist superstar" in red, white & blue on the front. "god bless america" was something Manson said at that infamous February 14, 1997 concert in Dayton and it worked well with the shirt; that was handwritten.
The
back of this shirt was a combination of things. The first line
"I pledge allegiance..." was the homage to all the kiddies
out there who stand up in class everyday with their hand on the
heart facing the flag reciting this worn out "allegiance"
the to the US flag. The next lines in quotations are from the
song "1996" off ACS. Below that is the symbol of the
Church of Antichrist inbetween "1996." And lastly, the
tagline on the bottom is the chorus to "1996" which
was more than appropriate.
The front featured three colors and the back print was in white only. As with the other shirts, this shirt featured the Spooky Kids List Logo on the right sleeve but this time in blue. This was a popular shirt that was rivaled only by the Throwback LeShirt. There were approximately 75 of these shirts made in both long & short sleeve. These images are severely skewed due to the photos of the actual shirt. The photos were shot at an angle.
