Lee tells us about snogging, crushes and falling in love with Lindsay!
Who was your first girlfriend?
-I had quite a few when I was 11 or 12, but my first serious one was
a girl called Julie when I was 17. She was in a different school to me
but I'd known her for years. I used to speak to her on the bus although
I knew she had a boyfriend. Then I heard they'd split up so I got my mates
to arrange a meeting to see if we could get together. She turned me down
at first but in the end we were together for 10 months.
Do you remember your first snog?
-I was 11, which seems a bit young really doesn't it! Her name was
Kelly, I think, and we used to go round the back of the school to kiss.
The first time I did it I thought it was horrible and embarrassing.
Did you ever sneak off behind the bike sheds with girls?
-We never had bike sheds, but we all used to go to the local community
centre in Carlisle and play football. That's where all the girls would come
to hang out with the boys.
Have you always had girls after you?
-Well, I always seemed to have a girlfriend so I was in demand I supposed!
My school reports always said I'd be popular with girls and thankfully
they weren't wrong!
Did you ever have a crush on anyone?
-I always really liked Kylie Minogue. She was small, had lovely hair and
I loved her in Neighbours which was my favourite show at the time. Plus
I thought she was really sexy and I loved her music. I met her at
photo shoot recently. She was in the sudio next to 911 and I just had to
see her. I took my camera and everything but she didn't have any
make-up on when we met so I didn't ask for a photo. She's so tiny. She
was great to meet but I don't fancy her anymore.
How many times have you been in love?
-I've only ever felt it twice. Now with Lindsay and the other was when I
was 17 with Julie. You just have a feeling of 'this is right' and you're
happy all the time and walk around with a smile constantly on your face.
Are you a real romantic?
-I can be with the right person. The secret of making a relationship work.
I think, is to always make the other person feel good. A sense of humour
is really important to make someone laugh and I love going out on dates
to special places. Life needs to be full of surprises. Oh, and if they're
coming over to your house to see you, remember to tidy first! That's
always important.
What's the most romantic thing you've done for a girl?
-That would have been for Lindsay about two weeks after we first got
together last year. She had to fly to the states for a few weeks with
B*Witched. It was Boxing Day and I was up north, so without telling her,
I got a flight and came down to London to see her for about an hour
before she flew off. It was lovely to do that. I don't like flying much so
I think Lindsay found the whole thing really special.
So how did you get together with Lindsay then?
-We do the same type of job so we were always meeting on tours
and at parties. B*Witched actually toured with 911 a couple of years
ago but I never really got to meet the girls then. We swapped numbers
at one show we were at and then started ringing each other.
What first attracted you to her?
-She's completely beautiful. She has a twinkle in her eye which I
love. And her smile is just gorgeous. What would she say about me?
Probably that I'm dead cheeky and a bit of a charmer.
How long did it take for romance to blossom?
-A few weeks I'd say, but that was only cos it was really hard to see each
other as our jobs are so hectic.
Is it hard having a relationship with another famous person?
-It's really hard cos we're always travelling and usually in different
directions! Plus you get really busy and streesed in this job and that's
not good when you're seeing someone. You've just got to make sure that
when you do see each other, you make it all really special. It is hard
work and I can see why a lot of famous couples split up.
Are you planning to spend Christmas together?
-We really don't know. We haven't been able to plan anything as yet cos
Lindsay's off touring and we're working on the Greatest Hits album
promotion. I'd love to but it depends on timing. Even if we don't spend
Christmas Day together I know we'll see each other as much as possible.
What about New Year's Eve?
-911 were asked to do a gig in Malaysia but we're not doing it as it would
be too expensive, so if I'm not working and neither is she, I'd love to
spend it with Lindsay.
Any chance you'll get married?
-I'd love to settle down and have kids, that's my dream, but it's not going
to happen overnight. Kids and stuff would be great. We'll just have
to wait and see!
