Bet You Didn't Know
This !!
One: Did you know that the secret nickname Spike and
Jimmy once gave Lee was Queen Spice?! This was
because he never carries any money around with him
like the Queen and he wore big Bufallo platform boots
like the Spice Girls!
Two: Lee's earliest memory is lying in his pram at his
grandma's house and sticking an ice cream in his ear!
Silly boy.
Three: Lee knew he'd arrived as a pop star when he was
invited to the Brit Awards in 1997, but he probably
wished the ground would open up and swallow him
whole when he walked up the steps in front of loads
of photographers and slipped in the rain, falling
flat on his face! ( poor you Lee! )
Four: Strangely enough you've got Wet Wet Wet singer
Marti Pellow to thank for 911 Lee was a big fan of
the Wets, still is in fact, and it was watching their Live
At Glasgow Green video that inspired the young Mr.
Brennan to take up singing. Cheers Marti!
Five: Although he wanted to be a football player, a singer
or a train driver (!) when he was younger, Lee's first
job was working for a sign-making business. He only
earned UK40 a week - changed days indeed!
Six: Like Spike and Jimmy, Lee is also a huge footie fan.
He supports his home-town team Carlisle F.C. but
was a bit of whizz on the pitch when he was younger
too. He went to a top soccer summer school and won
loads of awards, even captaining his country, before
realising he was probably a bit short to make it as
a professional player. Thank heavens for that!
Seven: Here's a little-known fact for you...Lee was so nervous
before his first ever 'Top Of The Pops' performance
that he sang the entire Take That Greatest Hits
as a warm-up, just to convince himself
he could sing!
Eight: What makes Lee chuckle? Well, he's obsessed with
the comedy series 'Bottom' starring Rik Mayall and
Ade Edmonson, and has a huuuuge collection of
all the videos.
Nine: Lee isn't too find of that keep-fit lark these days
(all the 'bodyshaking' keeps him in trim anyway!)
but when the band started off he was given a free
membership to a gym in Glasgow and used to go
every day, followed by a five-mile jog. So if you
ever remember seeing a whezzing, red-faced
little fella jogging round Glasgow Green and
Richmond Park a couple of years ago, you know
who it was!
