Been playing that cd of yours for months now. Wish you all the best and hope you and Big Sandy and The Paladins take rockabilly road to the Albany/ Saratoga, NY area soon. Or, maybe a battle of the bands with Kim Lenz, blonde vs. redhead :) Rock on, Josie!

I regret to say that I had never heard of you...until today when I went to Tower and they had your new CD on a listening station. I gave it a listen, and wow! You're great!
So I went to the website, and I see you'll be town, here at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, Michigan on August 16. I can't wait! Me and my rockabilly filly will be there!
Take care of yourself. You're a gem.
Rob Fagerlund
Beaumont, Texas...an unappreciated music mecca. Many influences converge here...Blind Willie Johnson died here in '49...'bout the time Harry James who grew up here was doin' fine...then Cliff Bruner and Moon Mullican brought westen swing here (Moon was the original Jerry Lee...right???). And how 'bout Lefty Frizzel who had THREE top ten hits on the country charts in '51 while livin' here on East Drive (how 'bout that Lefty song on Rosie Flores' Rockabilly Filly CD) ...and what about Johnny and Edgar Winter (Johnny opened for Alan Freed's "GO JOHNNY GO" at the Circle Dive-in on College Sreet in '61...and of course Edgar had the hits as well along with Jerry LaCroix who according to Laura Joplin was a major influence on her sister Janis (see her book...Janis was from around here you know)...Jerry LaCroix after stints with Edgar and White Trash, Rare Earth, and BS&T is back here still drinkin' Budweiser and rockin' hard as ever as he nears age 60...and then there's Johnny Preston who had the number 1 hit in the english-speaking world in 1960 ("Running Bear"...he still tours in Europe but can't get a club date in Beaumont where young people seemed "eaten up" with other locals such as Mark Chesnutt, Clay Walker, and Tracy Byrd)...WHEW!!!...now you have to admit that's a pretty impressive line-up for a city the size of Beaumont...but wait...what's that have to do with Josie? Just this...I forgot to mention the biggest Beaumont star of all: the legendary (but musically un-appreciated) J.P. Richardson, "The Big Bopper"!!! Why, if J.P. were alive today, I'm sure he would have had as much fun as I did at The Continental Club in March...I made a special trip to Josie after listening to her CD (which I bought solely based on the sexy cover)...but I love it...and the live act was no disappointment to this old fart starved for real music ( ie- Big Bopper style) in 1998. I hope Josie comes back to Texas soon...I want an autographed "Hot Rod Girl" picture to put next to to The Big Bopper's!!! Can I get one??? Keep on rockin!!! (and don't trade in that stand-up bass...best I ever heard)!!! Bill Withers...from Beaumont! (WWITH71158@aol.com)

I hope all is well. I caught your show in Covina at the park. You were great as always. Sorry...the crowd was kinda dull! Well I just wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that I think you're a terrific gal with the perfect combination of good looks, great style, and a beautiful voice. You're an inspiration for all the women that are part of the rockabilly scene. Keep up the good work!!! Good luck on the road. Hope to see you in California again soon.
