Here's what we know!!
06-05-03: GREAT NEWS! Ross has been working with Trevor Hurst (former Econoline Crush frontman) and writing some material, so we'll see where that goes. And here's something cool: he's doing a benefit show with some other folks in Atlanta tomorrow, for the Clayton County Human Society. Agh, isn't that sweet??? ^_______________^ It's at a place called "Smith's Olde Bar" in Atlanta, so you Atlanta-dwellers are in luck. Poor me! T___T Heh, I'm just glad he's doing stuff! Let's all be happy!
10-21-02: Nothing to say, really. Just wanted you people to know that I'm still maintaining this site and I will let you all know the minute anything news worthy becomes available! I can't believe it has been more than two years now since I met him and a year since the split... We all still miss you, Ross!
07-12-2002: Rumour has it that Ross is getting close to signing a record deal. Which record company, though? No clue. I just hope this one's true - don't you?
04-07-02: News for now is that Ross is in Stockbridge working in his home recording studio, and there might be some new recorded material from him as soon as Fall 2002! I don't know about his record deal situation, but I will of course let you all know when any information becomes available.
1-12-02. I belated Happy New Year to everyone! The latest round of news says that Ross is at home in Stockbridge, writing and looking into putting a band together. Good for him! (and excellent for us!) I'm sure we're now anxiously awaiting his return to musical glory, but first... I'm going to run to Stockbridge and join his band! >.< Just kidding. ^_^.
12-08-01: I heard that Ross is out-of-town, though I don't know exactly where, getting a bit of rest and relaxation. I hope he's doing well. I'm still anxiously awaiting his return to music, but everyone needs a vacation now and again. He'll be back better than ever.
11-7-01: This is a retroactive news post. Supposedly Ross is still resting up at home, sorting through his affairs, etc., and he is planning to return to music soon! We're all looking forward to that! I heard that a few weeks ago, and there's really nothing to report since then.
10-12-01: The "Official Statement": "Collective Soul has asked it's founding guitarist, Ross Childress, to leave the band under amicable terms, according to a spokesperson at Farshid, Arshid Entertainment (the band's management). Childress did not play any of the bands dates in September, thus far, with Steep guitarist Joel Kosche temporarily filling in on the road. Animosity had been brewing between the band and Childress for a few years, and it finally came to a head in early September. The guitarist had become a "danger to the band", according to the spokesperson, although specifics were not divulged. Collective Soul will hit a recording studio in a few weeks to record a demo to shop to labels, as it's latest effort, the retrospective "7even Year Itch: Greatest Hits 1994-2001", has fulfilled its deal with Atlantic Records.
