SOCIAL
STATUS IN AMERICA
Lately I have come to this conclusion while studying people. The
social
status that we as Americans live, eat and breathe is a measurement
on
how we spend our free time.
At first sight America is the land of opportunity “America the
beautiful”
If you want to go that far.
But during learning about us you find our culture as complex
as the
human brain that inhabits our head. Several different factors melt
in to
what slowly becomes our reputation or as we call it
here “social
status”
Of course the most obvious and prominent is the Hollywood theory.
Every one wants to be a star. So they spend their free time in
acting
school
And such.
On further inspection capitalism could rival the Hollywood theory.
The lower class is mystified by the idea of how any body could
be rich
,If you take a risk.
However studying humans closer you realize the concept” of
what you do
when you are younger”.
This is a theory is personified by the “best part of your
life” or high
school.
By spending time cheer leading you are portrayed as popular.
You get invited to all the parties. If you spend your free
time
studying you are portrayed as a geek and end up having no social
life.
In addition you have the self-esteem issues that have
been crammed
down teachers and students alike.
Although some people do rise up to the top, are they “special”
or is it
just how they spend free time.
