FINAL fANTASY VIII Squaresoft's latest RPG gem arrived hit the streets in Japan in February. The game sold more than 2 million copies. It was a major hit in the video market. Total first day sales in the U.S are estimated at $145 million when Final Fantasy VIII arrives in the Fall.
Something realistic about the game is how unlike in other RPGs, enemies attack patterns and abilities change throughout the game. You can't use the same move more than once against the same enemy. Another good thing, yet it doesn't see so realistic is that characters gain fighting experience even if they run away from the enemy. The best improvement over Final Fantasy VIII lies in the character movements and appearance. Their movement is far more realistic. One of the most impressive sequences ever seen in a videogame is when somebody uses the Leviathan. The Liviathan appears out of a formless mass when summoned, which causes a gigantic cliff to sprout from the ground beneath. From atop this cliff, a rushing torrent of water crashes down on the enemies below. Those aren't the only amazing things about the game. There is much more to come. When the game is released all the amazing things about the game will be known. The last Final Fantasy was amazing, but this one will shock many people. Preview by Roberto Carlos Martinez
