PREMIOS LO NUESTRO Premios lo nuestro is a huge annual award show for Latin Americans and a huge night too. It's one of the most popular awards shows in Spanish. It's the night when the best singers are recognized and there's a little bit of everything. On Thursday May 6, 1999 the awards show was live on Univision. The show opened up with a clip of amazing imitations by Julio Sabala. He did imitations of Celia Cruz(the queen of salsa), Cantinflas( an amazing comic), Julio Iglesias, and many more.. After that Julio Sabala came on-stage as he hosted the show. He did imitations of the biggest songs and hits. Many laughed as he made fun of hits by Enrique Iglesias, Elvis Crespo, Shakira, and many more.. The wardrobe of many singers and actors shocked many people. Some of it shocked people in a good way while others in a bad way. Many people made fun of the amazing singer and actress Patricia Navidad. She was wearing a Cinderella looking dress and what looked like a yellow wig. The amazing singer Shakira was also made fun of her red hair, that looked a bit uncombed. The astonishing singer Millie amazed people with her sexy tight dress her amazing body. The Merengue singer Gisselle also amazed people with her tight dress and her cute face. The show also had some amazing performances. Enrique Iglesias performed his hit "Esperanza." The performance was a bit shocking, but disappointing for others. The guy wasn't shown much and that was a disappointment for the fans. When he sang they showed clips of fans screaming and crying for him in concerts. Some people thought the guy wasn't really there. Sergio Vargas and Gisselle sang their hit "Lo quiero a morir." They danced around and sang amazingly. Gisselle looked amazing as she moved around with her tight dress. Olga Tanon had an amazing performance. She sang her hit "Tu amor," in many different music styles. She sang it in Merengue, Salsa, Pop, and many other styles. The performance was pretty good, but people didn't like it that she was messing around with different styles and just having fun. She did get the audience to stand up and dance a long. There were other amazing performances like Pepe Aguilar "Mujeres como tu" and Carlos Ponce with his hit "Rezo." Los Tigres del norte were given a tribute award for their long years of hard work. They have become a huge pride for the Latin culture. They have never won a Grammy, but have been nominated too many times.
