Bruce Dickinson -Oslo, Norway 10/26/98

John Dee, Oslo, Norway Oct 26th

The setlist: Same as in Uusikaupunki, Finland 10/24/98.

A colleague and my secretary went with me to John Dee. We started out drinking a few beers while we waited for the doors to open. After about two hours we could get in position in front of the rather minimalistic stage. The room was pretty soon crowded, but its maximum capacity is only 400.

Then the support band started to play. This was an unknown and uninteresting Norwegian band with loads of guitars and crappy vocals.

Then, after some waiting, the curtain opened and Bruce & Co. started out to the sound of The trumpets of Jericho. The sound was very good. The band was as good as expected and Bruce seemed to enjoy the show very much. He was jumping around on stage in his usual manner and his singing was superb. The area in front of the stage was very energetic and Bruce did not have to "work the crowd". Everybody was at their peak at once and I can tell you that it was a hell of a job standing in front of the stage. In the traditional Spinal Tap manner the number of girls at the show was at a minimum.

Bruce's talking was in the beginning limited to the words of Blake, but after a while he got a bit more talkative. He also promised that the next show in Oslo would be at a larger venue.

I enjoyed the whole show although I had some problems with the heat and the lack of oxygen. My secretary and my colleague also enjoyed the show even though they are not devoted Bruce fans.

Today I am back at Evensen & Co. law firm where I work and I have this buzzing sound in my ear because of the loud music yesterday. I hope that no clients will call me today.

Summary: The show was as great and I highly recommend it.
