The good news first: the gig was GREAT and I was able to get the setlist and take lots of pictures which I hope will be okay -
I might get them tomorrow.
The bad news is that there was NO possibility of getting in contact with Bruce or even see the
soundcheck. PC69 asked wether we could come in but the tour-manager did not permit us! Since we had arrived very early, that meant that after a nice chat with the Pinkies, we had to
wait in the cold and rain outside for more than 90 minutes! I was frozen to death, believe me. What really surprised me was that there were a lot LESS people waiting than I had imagined, I actually don't believe that there were as many people as the management had expected, it was definitely NOT sold out! Tomorrow I might be able to find out how many people were there.
But lets talk about the show! I must admit that I never see all of one - although I always try to get into the frontline and there always comes the moment when the music overwhelms me and I start headbanging like going crazy (sorry!!) and I hardly find the time to take pictures.
That place in Hamburg is quite nice for one reason - they don't have a fence(?) in front of the stage so that you really can get close to the bands. I was strongly tempted to open Bruce's
shoelaces only because I always had them directly in front if my hands!! And later on we all got fairly wet because he was sweating that much and I had to take care of my camera!!
Bruce seemed to be in a really good mood, maybe a bit nervous at the beginning since it was his first gig in Germany on this tour. He was very impressing while reciting but it was funny
to see that he held the book upside down!!! He was acting on stage as we like it: always running around and jumping like a madman , which was not so easy because the stage is not
big.
Adrian and Eddie did their jobs very well and so did the other guitarist (didn't understand his name but somebody told me that he is from Hamburg) but Roy was definitely missing!
But anyway - it was REALLY SATISFYING to see Bruce again in a show of his own and playing full-time and not supporting something like L.Sk. as he did last time. We had to pay alot of money then only to see Bruce for 50 minutes and leave afterwards because who the h*ll wants to hear "Sweet home Alabama" after "2 minutes to midnight"??????
I'm really looking forward to the next gig tomorrow in Cologne - I will not give up hope to meet him! There will still be TWO other opportunities since I got my ticket for MADRID, SPAIN yesterday ! So, maybe I will give you a report on that show in Spanish
Bye!
