Optimistic title (It would be the hint of cynicism), the unfamiliar notes of sourness a in new songs "I'm a loser" and "Baby's in black.". Lennon sung "Rock and roll music" (Chuck Berry),. Paul sung "Kansas city" (Little Richard). And there are also "Words of love", "Everybody trying to be my baby", "Mr. Moonlight", "I'll follow the sun". There's much less new material in this LP.

"No reply", "Eight days a week", "Baby's in black" are excellent Lennon / Mccartney compositions.

It's the first burst of Beatles madness!!

Here are the info of the songs

No reply

"No reply" was early John's composition. Originally written for singer Tommy Quickly. The Beatles made their new version and recorded in this LP. Powerful opening song!

Baby's in black

The first song they started recording. It's strange love song...Lennon/Mccartney's compositon.

Rock and roll music

The Beatles cover version of Berry's song. Lennon on lead vocals. This was one of six songs begun and completed in a single session. Captured on first take.

Eight days a week

Excellent Lennon/Mccartney song. John as lead vocal, Paul the backing harmonies.

Honey don't

Ringo's only lead vocal on that LP. Cover version of Carrl Perkins song. When the Beatles performed this song on stage and on radio. John sung the lead vocal. The final song recorded for this LP.

Everybody's trying to be my baby

George's only solo lead vocal on that LP. Cover version again Carl Perkins song. George in particular admirer of Perkins' rock music.
