Daniel Jones:
Born in Essex, England on the 22nd of July 1973. Daniel was the youngest of three brothers. Daniel came from long line of musicians so his love of music came at a very earlier age. His brother use to have a drum set and he would sneak turns on the drums when his brothers went out. By 7 Daniel was taking piano lessons and hating it. He said that it cause it was very strict. When Daniel was 10 he was playing the keyboard and drums in pubs and hotels and starting to know that music will become his career. Many years later Daniel and his brothers started a band and was in need of a singer. Thats when Darren jumped into the picture!
Durning that time Darren was thinking of become a musician when fate hit him right in the face. He was reading a advertisement for a singer in a local band (Daniel's Oz Rock band). Darren considers the ad and goes to the audition where he sang in the wrong key and his voice split, but Daniel and Darren click anyway. They were both very ambitious and seperated from the band to begin Savage Garden. They shared the same goals and sat in a bedroom creating songs and writing lyrics. They sent out 150 demo-tapes all over the world and waited patiently for replies.
Luck started to play a part in their lives when a disc jockey from Dallas started to play a copy of I Want You. The calls started to come and the song quickly were distributed from station to station. They became reconized by their now manager, John Woodruff and got signed onto Sony's Columbia Records. At this time everything was overwheming for Darren and Daniel. They came so far and now their dreams were becoming true. Their album that was released 24th of March 1996 went platinum within the little time of three days of its release.
Some in the US say that they're a one hit band and will not become successful. Well Savage Garden is proving them wrong and they surely have a couple a tricks up their sleeves for those Americans and soon they will find out...
