Liner Notes:
"I saw the Crowd for the first time in 1979. I went to a show at a recreation hall in Huntington Beach or Fountain Valley or somewhere and the Crowd were playing with the Flyboys and the Voyeurs. I felt the Crowd by far outshined the other bands. They were like the Ramones in day-glo and I liked that X-Ray Spex song. I thought the Crowd were nifty. My brand of enthusiasm wasn't sharedby the toughguy mentality that had by then started to plague them and their following and that evening I got pummeled .But I left that hall a fan and started to see them whenever I could, that is to say, whenever I could sneak out of the house.

The Crowd affected everyone at this time. They were the band from H.B, an Orange County band, and unlike the Middle Class, the Crowd audience was full of undesirables - the same people who beat the hell out of me. I think that was what hurt them most. Later they changed their style and lost most of negative audience, leaving them with nothing but their music. The Crowd invited my band The Adolescents to open up for them one night at the Starwood. We were excited because we loved their stuff, but when we were done with our set, everyone walked out, leaving nobody to watch the Crowd. I remember being very embarrassed that our audience shined on them. I mean, this was a band I would risk two weeks restriction to see....."
