"When I first heard about this LP being put together and mentioned it to Scott he said "You really must congratulate whoever dug up these old songs. This LP is bound to do well in Britain because everybody here is so fond of antiques".
These songs were recorded as 'demos' in the year 1959 when Scott was in California. This type of work was his main source of income and he was working his way through school at the time.
One of the songs, "Sing boy Sing", was recorded by Tommy Sands after hearing Scott's 'demo' and it became a big hit in America.
Scott says he's not particularly proud of these numbers now that we're in 1968, but of course they are of some value as collectors' items and because they do genuinely reflect the youthful effort which he put into his musical work in those days".

Scott Walker has risen from the ranks of his early apprenticeship to the height of fame which he richly deserves.
He had endeared himself to the hearts of of the public on both sides of the water and because this album does genuinely reflect his early days this LP will be of great historic value as a 'Collectors' item and will be kept as a treasure by all Scott Walker fans.
