The reason for this page is because this is a cause that is really close to my heart. My baby brother suffers from a CHD (congenital heart defect) known as Aortic Stenosis. If you know thw the anatomy of the heart, it is when the Aortic vavle, the valve between the left ventricle and the aorta did not form properly, Because of this the valve is narrow making it hard for the heart to pump blood into your bady. We were lucky when we discovered it at his birth two years ago and since then he has been seeing a doctor regularly to moniter it. We were optomistic because he did not show signs of a child with a heart defect but in Nov. of 1999, the signs started to show. Fatigue, struggling for breath so in his best interest he went through a procedure called a Balloon Valvuloplasty. Now I am happy to say he has 50% more blood flow to his heart and as energetic as ever. Eventually he will have to have open heart surgery to replace that deformed valve but until then we thank god that he is healthy. At one point before the sugery we were afraid that he would go to sleep and not wake up. So that is why this is very important to me. I think of it this way. What if it was someone that you loved going through this. Wouldn't you want someone to help them through this difficult time? Keep that in mind.

Brian Littrell  started up his foundation Healthy Heart Club for Kids last year after his own surgery that he had to repair a hole that he had in his heart.
He has suffered from the CHD Ventricular Septal Defect from the day he was born. It was not till he was 5 that they had spotted it after an accident that he had. Luckily he pulled through even though at one point it was thought that he wouldn't. But from his experience and his love for children he opened this organization to earn money for children suffering  though the same thing. Money and gifts sent by fans like you have helped in a huge way to raise their spirits. Lets make sure that it will always be like that.
