                                                                  JAMES MARSHAL HENDRIX

                                                                       Born:  November 27, 1942.
                                                                       Died: September 17, 1970.

A Child was born,  a child that would become to most the greatest guitarist of all time. that
child was born James Marshal Hendrix in Seattle, Washington, on November 27, 1942.

His parents divorced in the early fifties and Jimi was brought up by his father, Al Hendrix.
Al bought Jimi an old cheat guitar after he saw his love for music. soon Jimi was playing
with local bands. and from there it was just a matter of time before the name, Jimi Hendrix
           would ROCK the world.

Jimi soon would be playing with the likes of little Richard, Sam Cooke, and the Isley Brothers.
in 1966, Jimi formed his own band and was elected to sing. he fond his band playing in New
          York City's Greenwich Village.

During one of Jimi's shows he was discovered by Chas Chandler, a former member of the
band the Animals. he invited Jimi to London. two weeks later on October  6, 1966, the Jimi
Hendrix Experience was formed. the first to join was Noel Redding. Mitchell Mitchell rounded
          out the trio.

They recorded "Hey Joe" and released it at the end of 1966. by February of 1967 "Hey Joe"
was #4 on the charts. the same year "Purple Haze" and "Wind Cries Mary" were released.
those songs were big time hits. in May the band released "Are Your Experienced". it was
#2 on the charts through 1967.

It was now time to introduce the Jimi Hendrix Experience to the United States. in June the
band played the Monterey Pop Festival. some say it was Jimi's greatest performance.
the fans got to see Jimi torch his guitar before smashing it to hell.

On December 1, 1967, the band released a third album called "Axis: Bold As Love".
(my favorite album) the album sold more than 1 million copies.  in 1969 Noel Redding and
Mitch Mitchell quit the band from to many internal disagreements.

Jimi's new band, called Band Of Gypsy's, played the Woodstock festival in August of 1969.
Woodstock turned out to be an historic event. the band was the  finale at the festival. the
band contiuned to tour until Billy Cox got sick and Jimi brought him back to London to recover.

Jimi had a lot of girls in his life. one being Monika Dannemann. on the night of Thursday,
Septmeber 17, 1970. Jimi took 9 sleeping pills  (a half of one is a normal dose). in the morning
his girlfriend noticed some vomit coming from his mouth. she didn't know what to do at first.
she called Chas Chandler for advice and then she called for an ambulance.

While in the ambulance Jimi was in a sitting position with no headrest and once again
he vomited.  he suffocated from his vomit. Jimi Hendrix was dead. died from what some are
negligence from the ambulance (paramedics) crew.

         IN MEMORY OF JIMI HENDRIX...
