Died: Miami, Florida - December 4th, 1976

Cause of Death: Multiple Drug Intoxication

Resting Place: Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa

Claim to Fame: Tommy Bolin was an American Guitar Wiz and prolific composer originally from Sioux City, Iowa. Tommy played with American Bands Zephyr and Energy before joining the James Gang, recommended for the spot by Joe Walsh (The Eagles). He later replaced Ritchie Blackmore as lead guitarist for the legendary Deep Purple. Tommy released 2 solo albums, Teaser in 1974 and Private Eyes shortly before his death in 1976. He was an accomplished and highly sought after session muso as well, lending his talents to such musicians as Billy Cobham, Jan Hammer, Alphonse Mouzon and Stanley Sheldon (Peter Frampton Band).
