Claim to Fame: Started in the 50s as a child actor with his parents on
the U.S. sitcom, 'The Ozzie and Harriet Show'. Perhaps the first 'manufactured'
pop star. His music career started when one of the shows storylines was
about young Ricky recording a song. The song, 'Teenager's Romance' became
a top ten hit and thus a 25 year rock career was started. He is the father
of 1980s teen pop group Nelson.
