The 'Cane take one step closer to "Gimme Shelter" heaven with this, a nifty
swagger of a record powered up by Andy Bell's supremely boozy slide guitar
and the spunky throat of Alex Lowe. There's none of the dewy-eyed glib
sentiments evidenced in the last effort "Only The Strongest Will Survive",
just good, honest fare for the working man. (Next potential add campaign
after the Sun: Fray Bentos tinned pies.)
And weighing in at almost nine minutes, complete with the seemingly infinite
tail chasing outro, omens are looking good for the forthcoming second album.

HURRICANE #1 TOUR BEGINS
Denser in pocket (if lighter in credibility) after the "Only The Strongest
Will Survive" soundtracked The Suns' recent bid for respectablility,
Hurrcicane #1 venture roadwards to promote their new, improved, more My
Bloody Valentine-inclined single, "Rising Sign", beginning tonight at
Aberdeen Lemon Tree and rolling on up to Brighton on the 13th. Support comes
from the hot, driving-fixated Creation new boys One Lady Owner. Those of a
generous spirit might wish to bring along a little prezzie for Andy and his
wife Idha's new-born baby girl, Leia, who's named (of course) after Carrie
Fisher's character in Star Wars.
