Adam Horovitz(age 33; Oct 31, 1966), also known as the KingADrock, has had a pretty whack life.
But who hasn't, right??  Horovitz was not in the group when they played their first gig in 1981.
The other two BEASTIES met Horovitz at a club, CBGBs.  Horovitz was, however, in his own
band, The Young and the Useless.  Later joining up with the BEASTIES in 1983.  He recalls in
a recent interview that he wasn't really asked to join, but that he just did.
His father is a playwright, Isreal Horovitz, divorced his mother, Doris when Adam was only three.
He grew up living with his mother in Greenwich Village where his mother ran a children's clothing
store.  She bought him a guitar at the age of 12, which brought them closer together.  Horovitz still
has the guitar, even though it is broken and never played anymore.  At 14, Horvitz was caught
smoking dope at school.  Not much, right??  Well the dope belonged to his mother.  His mother was also a heavy drinker, eventually drinking herself to death.  This brought Horvitz closer to his siblings.
The stress of his mother's death left Horovitz with ulcers.  "Licensed To Ill" is dedicated to his mother.
Horovitz is now devorced from his wife Ione...
