SKINNY PUPPY REVIVED FOR REMIX

A collection of Skinny Puppy's most popular songs have been reworked by some of today's most popular and innovate artists for a new compilation album.

"Remix  DysTemper" features remixers ranging from the expected [NIN's Chris Vrenna] to the unthinkable [Deftones], plus contributions from the Puppy themselves. Vrenna remixes the dancefloor classic "Assimilate" and Front Line Assembly's Rhys Fulber contributes a funky reworking of "Warlock".  Also credited on the album [besides Guru, Josh Wink and several others] are vocalist Ogre [with Ruby's Mark Walk] and drummer cEvin Key.  Long-time producer/collaborator Dave "Rave" Ogilvie mixes many of the tracks.

Since the tragic death of Dwayne Goettel in 1995, the only material to be released from Skinny Puppy is the final "Process" album, plus a collection of previously unreleased mixes called "Brap". Goettel had been working on other projects, most of which have been released posthumously.  The most notable include the Download albums and several appearances on compilations.  Download teamed him up with fellow 'Puppy member cEvin Key, who continues to work with Download and the Subconscious label.  Key recently relocated from his native Vancouver to L.A.

Ogre has been working on a project called W.E.L.T. with Mark Walk [Ruby], and later with Martin Atkins on a band called Ritalin [aka "R"].  W.E.L.T. has been beleaguered by record company problems, and there is still no sign of release, but R looks likely to be eventually released via Atkins' Invisible label.  All three of them have been in Atkins' "supergroup" Pigface, which also featured En Esch from KMFDM, whom Ogre joined for a tour last year.  Martin Atkins has been enthusiastic about R saying "People underestimate Ogre.  He is extremely talented and has had some incredible ideas.  It's a very experimental project, and I can't wait for it to be released."

Skinny Puppy have been namechecked by everyone from Trent Reznor to The Chemical Brothers.  "The Process" was universally acclaimed and were it not for the demise of the keyboardist and the band's dramatic split, looked certain to finally deliver the success they'd always promised.
