Great songs, great lyrics, not so many fans. Probably no one will
ever look at this file because not so many people really like
Grant Lee Buffalo. But I do.
I've got this song pretty well figured out, but sometimes it's
really hard to hear exactly what he's playing. Like when there's
Em it might also be Em7, and when there's Dsus2 it sometimes might
be Dm. But I think it's pretty much correct. Let me know if you
like this song.
Oh, and remember, like with all the songs on the Fuzzy album, you
have to tune your guitar down one note (half step) to play along
with the CD.

VERSE 1:
--------
              Am
The soft wolf tread
Em Em7 Dsus2
through Emerald Forest, he was looking to make a bed
Cadd9 Dsus2 Dm Am
There in the spindly thicket, softly did he tread
    Dm Am Dsus2 Am
The soft wolf tread, he sure was starved
Em Em7 Dsus2
And through his silver coat his ribs shone sharply carved
Cadd9 Dsus2 Dm
The hand that feeds was pickin' weeds
                   Am
And he sure looked starved

CHORUS:
-------
Am C Dsus2
Up comes Hood, he's beautiful
     E (or E7)
As a sirloin steak to a pit bull chained up
     Dsus2
It's good, to see
        E (or E7)
such an old friend again, such an old friend again,

such an old friend again

VERSE 2:
--------
        Am
Then he said
      Em Dsus2 Cadd9 Dsus2
"Dear Hood, what brings you to this neck of the woods?"
Am Dsus2 Am
"With your scarlet cape and your basket full o' grapes,
Am Dsus2
what lures you, to the woods?"

CHORUS:
-------
    Am C Dsus2
The soft wolf tread, the clearing
         E (or E7)
And he's nervously tugging on his earring
   Dsus2
He talked, "How good,
        E (or E7)
Such an old friend again, such an old friend again,

such an old friend again.

BRIDGE:
-------
Am Em Dsus2 Cadd9 Dsus2

Am Em Dsus2 Cadd9 Dsus2
Such an old.. Such an old...
Am Em Dsus2 Cadd9 Dsus2

VERSE 3:
--------
            Am Em
And then he spun, a twisted tale
        Dsus2 Cadd9
About a child who cried his name so many times
          Dsus2 Am C Am
That even when he yelled no one ever came

CHORUS:
-------
    Am C Dsus2
The soft wolf tread
              E (or E7)
The soft wolf tread
              Dsus2
The soft wolf tread
       E (or E7)
And he tread and tread and tread and tread
        Dsus2
Such an old friend again, such an old friend,
                             E
such an old friend again
