(Just Like) Starting Over
A last minute clue...
for the (Just Like) Starting Over essay
While I was working on this page, I decided to create a MIDI file to put in some background sound. So I picked up my "Lennon The Solo Years" book (Wise Publications ISBN 0.86001.978.0) and started typing the staves on my musical software.
I had a real surprise when I heared the solo staff of the phrase "our life":
Click here to hear it once, or here to hear it repeating several times.
So I ran and picked up another book, "The Beatles Complete" (Delilah Communications Ltd./ATV Music Publications ISBN 0-553-01354--8) and... Yes I found it:
Click here to hear it once, or here to hear it repeating several times.
So the phrase "our life" in (JL)SO reminds us of the phrase "little darling" on George Harrison's "Here Comes The Sun". All verses that follow "little darling" fit perfectly in my essay:
- It's been a long, cold, lonely winter;
- The smile returning to their faces;
- I Feel that ice is slowly melting;
- It feels like years since it's been here;
- It feels like years since it's been clear....
... It' allright.
