Intro Enter Sandman Creeping Death Harvestor of Sorrow Welcome Home(Sanitarium) Sad but True Wherever I May Roam Jason's solo Through the Never The Unforgiven Eye of the Beholder / Blackened / Frayed Ends of Sanity / And Justice for All / Blackened / Lars' solo > Mistreated Kirk's solo Nothing Else Matters For Whom the Bell Tolls Fade to Black Whiplash > La Grange Master of Puppets Seek and Destroy One Last Caress Am I Evil? Damage Inc. Stone Cold Crazy QUALITY: A lot of hiss associated with this recording, and the quality is not great. In fact, it's louder in the right channel than in the left. Kind of annoying listening to it this way. This is a pretty uncirculated show as of 2003, but it's poor quality can be attributed to that verses it really being a rare show. James' vocals are easy to pick out. Guitars, bass, and drums are kind of mixed together. You can still tell what songs are being played, but it's definitely not a great recording. Pretty distant too, not sure where the taper was sitting, but he wasn't close to a speaker stack that's for sure. Actually on the second tape, the sound quality improves slightly, then gets really bad during from One, but again improves during the last dueling solo part. Have to recommend this one for the die-hards... SOURCE: Unknown audience analog TIME: 160 minutes CORRECT SHOW: Yes, Hampton is said around 900 times throughout the show. FLAWS: My cassette copy has the first tape flip in the middle of the Orion jam. Also, Nothing Else Matters is split for the switch from tape 1 to tape 2. The second tape flip happens during One. If I ever put this to cd, there will be cuts in these songs. BAND PERFORMANCE: Band performance is great, pretty much what you'd expect from them this stage in the tour. Lots of good crowd noise, which usually indicates a great show. Not really much else to report other than it was another black album show, in another city in the US. Setlist is by now pretty predictable, and they stick to the forumla quite well. Although the addition of Stone Cold Crazy is always cool. Nice jam to ZZ Top's La Grange before Master of Puppets. Someone chucks a bottle at James, and he get's pissed of course, tells the crowd to kick the guy's ass. Hopefully they did.
