QUALITY: Ok, so the quality of this recording sucks. Die-hards only for sure on this one.
Most of the shows from the '88 Monsters of Rock tour are pretty bad in quality, but this
one has to be one of the worst. The LA Coliseum is huge, and the taper was definitely not
close to the stage. In addition, it sounds like the recorder was underneath something, as it's
muffled a bit. You can still tell what songs are being played, but it's a rough recording to
listen to. Seriously, this a rough recording. Metallica is still considered the unknown
on this tour. During Fade to Black some guy's girlfriend goes around looking for gum. Moments
like this always add a certain charm to bootlegs...

SOURCE: Unknown audience analog
TIME: 73 minutes

CORRECT SHOW: Yes, James sings "scanning the scene down in L.A. tonight"

FLAWS: Not counting the sound quality, there is one drop between Fade and
Seek for a tape flip. Otherwise the show is complete.

BAND PERFORMANCE: Tough to tell how good the performance is. The crowd chatter is
about as loud as the band. There is a slight delay between Bells and Welcome Home, that
Jason fills with a bass jam. Probably the most unique part of the show. There is rumor
of a video floating around of this show, it's true. However, this video is in an extremely
tight trading circle. I have seen the video, but was not allowed a copy. It was pretty rough
footage anyway. There's more to the story of the video, something about the original being stolen
out of a band member's safe. Could just be trading legends though...During Creeping Death the fans
decide to take all of the chairs on the floor and send them forward. Really, who's idea was it to
put chairs on the floor? You really can't pick this up from the audio, it was on the
video however. The band looses their amps during Whiplash, there is a significant delay
to get them back up, and the crowd gets pretty restless. That actually might be more
unqiue than Jason's improv bass solo.

Also on the bill: Van Halen, Scorpions, Dokken and Kingdom Come
