Born on March 30, 1968 in Charlemagne, Quebec, Celine was the youngest of 14 children. She grew up with musical influences, and sang at her mom and dad's bar. She met her manager Rene Angelil when she was 12 after she sent him a demo tape, and he signed her right away. Her success followed, winning 2 awards at The Yamaha World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo. She won the Eurovision song Contest in 1988 , and many Felix and Juno Awards years later. She sang the theme for 'Beauty and the Beast in 1992 and it earned her an Oscar. She was already a huge international success, all she wanted now was a love of her life. She found it, on December 17, 1994, she married manager Rene Angelil at the Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal. She was then on her way to find an even bigger album success, after releasing 2 French albums in the last 2 years ( Celine Dion a l'Olympia & D'eux ). The answer was Falling Into You, which would become her biggest selling album up to that time. She teamed up with a long list of producers, including David Foster. The set sold a worldwide total of 25 million plus. By early 1997, she was on top of the world, and ready to retire to spend time with Rene at their home in Florida, when Sony approached her abour doing another album, this time with not only the top producers, but top singers. Celine had never done a duet album before, so why not start now ?? They had an all star line up, including ; Carole King, Diana King, The Bee Gees, Bryan Adams, Luciano Pavarotti, Corey Hart, and of course Barbra Streisand. London composer James Horner also approached Celine in May of '97 to record a love song to be the closing credit number on a new movie of James Horner's called 'Titanic'. It would also be on Celine's new album. Celine agreed and, in only 1 take, Celine recorded the song, and fell in love with it. The c.d. was all done, and named 'Let's Talk About Love' In November of '97 it was released to great numbers. It debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and #1 in tons of other countires, In Canada, it set a new sales total, selling 230,212 in it's first week of release. It ended up selling a wopping 25 million units, tying the sales of 'Falling Into You' of 1996. In 1998, Celine started a new phenomenon, with the opening of Titanic, and the release of 'My Heart Will Go On' The love them from the movie set a new Airplay Record, with an audience of 105.6 million listeners for the week ending January 27, 1998. She helped the 'Titanic Soundtrack' stay at #1 for 16 straight weeks on the Billboard 200 and, sell 10 million albums in only 7 months ( of course, making it the best selling Album of the Year in the USA ). It sold 26 million units after it's streak of being at #1 in 14 countries, all thanks to the golden voice of Celine !! This September Celine released yet another French Speaking album, entitled 'S'il Suffisait d'Aimer' which has already been an international bestseller. The latest album Celine has released is a Holiday set 'These are Special Times' which includes the single 'I'm Your Angel'.
