My Rating: A-
Sound is really great for an early audience analog recording. My CDR is sourced from a first generation analog cassette. The sound is a little high on the treble side, but it is very clear and crisp. Kurt's vocals and guitar are right up front in the overall mix. The show itself is great. Spank Thru is phenominal. They take it at blistering speed. During the first verse, Kurt stops playing the guitar part and what we hear is this wall of high-end feedback shrieking from his speaker into our stomachs. I love this version. Probably my new favorite. The band is really into it the whole time. They open the show with some noise/ jamming. The jam between Breed and About a Girl is basically Kurt scraping his strings while Krist jams with Chad. God damn. This show fucking rocks. The whole fucking set is played at a very aggressive rate of speed. Spank Thru and Big Cheese are probably the best example of this. In Bloom is great. This show is amazing. The band just rips through the set. Kurt is incredible-sounding throughout the whole show. I recommend this show very highly. It is simply amazing to hear the band at this time. Still on Sub Pop, still struggling to make it, but yet a definate fixture in the early 90s punk rock scene. Krist (the anti-Christian) talks about religion and drugs-- one of his finer speeches on the matter in my opinion-- right after Been A Son. This is great: GET IT!!! |
