First of all, Bobcat Golthwait (is that how you spell it?) starts the show off with a bit of his trademark standup. He intros the band and the show begins. I think this show is probably the saddest show I have ever heard. Everything is slower than usual and the songs themselves seem somewhat tired. Kurt sounds extremely depressed-- Sliver is actually depressing. I don't know what it is, but this show sounds really different than any other from the In Utero tour. That said, the reason everyone MUST own this show is for the ONLY known recording of the AMAZING song "You Got No Right" (A.K.A. "On The Mountain"). Dave announces that it's Lori the cellist's birthday. Kurt thanks the crowd for the shirt they threw him and asks them if they have any diaphragms he could have. After Polly, Kurt tells Dave he wants to do Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam. There is some other talking here and there... Kurt sounds just fucking depressed, I can't explain it. Anyway, enough of that. This show is just totally killer. It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and is probably one of my favorite shows even though it's from the infamous In Utero tour. This is one of the highest-recommended CDs I have to offer. |
