This is one of the best audience recordings I've ever heard. It not only captures the band well, but Kurt's voice is in great mix and the show sounds amazing. The only reason this show is not a straight A is that the show is incomplete (missing Scentless Apprentice and Blew). The version of Serve the Servants on this show is probably the best ever, it just sounds really fucking good. Pennyroyal Tea is played very fast compared to usual. Krist asks how many people "rented a limo, got a bunch of coccaine, and went to the show"? Milk It and Territorial Pissings are both EXCELLENT versions. I am not a fan of the In Utero tour, but this show is pretty good. Just after Krist sings his little intro to Territorial Pissings and before Kurt starts the chords, a loud whistle is blown-- it's really funny sounding when you hear it. Kurt does a beautiful segway from Smells Like Teen Spirit to All Apologies (the loud feedback into the mellow-depression guitar riff sound). The sound of the guitars on In Bloom is really really powerful. I'm going to have to recommend this disc to everyone, even if it is incomplete-- this show is pretty good. |
